God is a faithful God. I think sometimes as
believers we forget just how faithful our God truly is, especially when we are
believing God for His word to come to pass in our lives. First, let’s establish
what faithful means.
The word faithful means: true to one's word,
promises, vows, etc.
steady in allegiance
or affection; loyal; constant
reliable, trusted, or
believed.
God is the only Faithful One. He is reliable
& can be counted on. He is trustworthy. He is not inconsistent. He is not
wishy washy. He does not change (Malachi 3:6). If He has declared a thing, it
will come to pass. Psalm 119:89–90 declares, “Your word, Lord, is eternal; it
stands firm in the heavens. Your faithfulness continues through all
generations.” The other day I took notice of the sun. I realized that it
doesn’t matter what natural disasters happen here on earth or what evil takes
place in this world, the sun never seizes to rise and set. We can count on the
sun to do the same thing every day. God reminded me that the sun is indicative
of His character, of His very nature. No matter what evil is done to us or what
unpleasant circumstances we may find ourselves in, God is still the same &
every word that He has proclaimed over our lives still stands. Nothing can
change what God has promised you.
The LORD Almighty has sworn, "Surely, as
I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will happen” (Isaiah
14:24). Forget what it looks like. Never mind what it feels like. What did He
say? Numbers 23:19 says, "God is not a man, that He should lie, nor
a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He
spoken, and will He not make it good?”
Our God is so consistent that even if we are
faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself (2 Timothy 2:13). Even
when we have those moments of doubt or insecurity about what God has already
declared, He is still faithful to do it. Even we His saints cannot reverse what
God has already promised to do. Isaiah 43:13 says,” Indeed,
before the day was, I am He; And there is no one who can deliver out of My
hand; I work, and who will reverse it?” Just look in your bible. Whenever God
said He was going to do something He did it. Look at the lives of God’s people
all the way from Abraham, Joseph, King David, Elizabeth & Zacharias, and
even Mary, the mother of Jesus. Even though it looked one way, in the end God
fulfilled every promise. He made good on every word. He did exactly what He
told them He would do in their lives. Be encouraged. Know that God will fulfill
every promise that He made to you. Your part is faith. Have faith in Him to do
it.
God says, “Heaven and earth shall pass away,
but my words shall not pass away” (Matthew 24:35). Every word that God speaks
is final. He has the final authority and say. He will do it. So relax and smile
because what God has promised you is coming!
For as the rain comes down, and the snow from
heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. -Isaiah 55:10-11
